Bike Preparation & Checks

Your bike is your most important companion! Please ensure your gravel bike is in excellent condition before arriving.

  1. Tires: We recommend tubeless tyres with a width of 40mm or wider for the varied gravel surfaces. Ensure they are freshly sealed with sealant.

  2. Brakes & Gears: Have your local bike shop service your brakes and drivetrain. The Northern Algarve's hills mean you'll be using both heavily.

  3. Pre-Trip Service: It's highly advisable to get a full service at least two weeks before the trip to identify and fix any potential issues.

  4. Packing: If you are travelling with your own bike, make sure it is securely packed in a proper bike bag or case.

Travel and Insurance

Travel with peace of mind by arranging comprehensive coverage.

  • Medical Insurance: Ensure your travel insurance covers all necessary medical expenses while abroad.

  • Bike Insurance: We strongly recommend getting separate insurance to cover your bicycle against loss, damage, or theft. Please check if your policy covers cycling activities.

  • Travel Documents: Remember to check the current entry requirements for Portugal well in advance of the trip start date.
